OurPictures, Inc.Product: OurPictures Network
Description: OurPictures is the world's first consumer service that makes digi-tal
photography simple enough for everyone. For the first time,
consumers can organize, edit, share, and print in one easy-to-use
program. By eliminating the traditional barriers of cumber-some
Web sites and email attachments, OurPictures has created
the best photo-sharing service available. With OurPictures
Mobile, consumers now can share photos and videos between
cell phones, computers, and other connected devices instantly, in
one click or less.
DEMO says: As camera phone resolution improves to and beyond the 1-
megapixel level, these phones have the potential to replace the
low end of the digital camera market — if the market can pro-vide
compelling applications beyond photo messaging.
OurPictures, which established its credibility in photo-sharing
with its launch at DEMO in February, has such an application.
With its simple interface and convenient addressing system,
OutPictures mobile platform provides save and share functionali-ty
that makes camera phones truly valuable.
Market Outlook: IDC estimates that more than 600M camera phones will be in
use worldwide by 2007. During 2003, more camera phones
were sold worldwide than digital cameras (57M vs. 44M). As
image quality improves, so will the number of photos being
shared by consumers from mobile phones.
Funding: The company is privately held and funded by top-tier investors,
including Sutter Hill Ventures, John Paul, and Jim Anderson,
founder of Merrill, Pickard, Anderson & Eyre, Foundation
Capital, and Legacy Venture.
