MVOEMProduct: SXE platform
Description: MVOEM’s SXE platform delivers a completely branded mobile
experience through a holistic combination of MVOEM’s vector-based
software environment and brand-centric industrial design.
The MVOEM SXE Platform is based on certified modules, off-the-shelf
visual design tools and MVOEM’s innovative software and
hardware designs. This lets clients bring their brand vision directly
to mobile subscribers quickly and cost-efficiently, customizing all
aspects of the experience including the industrial design, software
user interface, and data services.
DEMO says: Popular offline brands are turning to mobile market to solidify
brand affinity, and MVOEM, an acronym for Mobile Virtual
OEM, is aggressively seizing this opportunity. The company is a
general contractor of sorts for marketers eager to wrap their
brands around the mobile phone experience. Leveraging
Macromedia Flash and its unique designs, MVOEM offers the
customization of contract manufacturing with the cost-efficiency of
commodity devices.
Market Outlook: Virtually all the growth in mobile is in branded devices. Goldman
Sachs says branded mobile operators phones will grow 31%,
consumer branded phones 116%, and MVNO phones 130% by
2007. Feature phone volumes will surpass 500M in 2004.
Funding: VC-funded, undisclosed investors.
Competitors: MVOEM competes against “white box” phone manufacturers in
Asia who offer generic mobile devices and phone technology
companies who wrap their own IP in turnkey phone designs.
Neither of these competitive camps embrace the brand-centric
design ethic combined with vector-based software technology
neccesary to cost-effectively create a rich branded mobile
experience.
